Printing words or imagine steps are: firstly, we creat file, edit it. Then send the print command to printer.

Similar as cnc wood router or laser machine. We create program file in the PC, then edit program file, set the tool path, then transfer it to the format CNC wood router control system accept. NextFab Use CNC Wood Router

NextFab has been my prototyping studio for the bamboo Fluid Ribbon Chair. I needed a place to laminate bamboo tensile specimens, CNC wood router the specimens, and the form mold for the chair. Then had to laminate the bamboo, vacuum bag and press the chair into the mold, heat cure it, and cut/finish the shell into the Fluid Ribbon Chair shape. I also needed 6’x7’ vinyl banners for the booth at ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, this pas May). All of that was done at NextFab. It was one month of planning and logistics, then two long days of execution that produced the bamboo fluid ribbon chair the night before the show.

Everyone at NextFab was so supportive and excited about the project. Evan Malone was particularly accommodating when I had critical parts of the process and needed access to equipment at specific times.

Then set tool path, choose relief sculpture, then choose cutter, please notice that there is under cutting distance, this value is the size of cutting down size every time. This value is setted according to material hardness and cutter quality. Choose the item of multi z layer milling. At last Z tool path, input the total depth of relief sculpture. Then choose tool path simulation to see who tool path works. Then input the tool path to cnc stone router control system to start processing.

1. Clean linear guide powder, ballcrew, then use cloth to make more clean. Oil to the ballscrew and linear guide, better use anti-frozen machine oil in winter.

2. Oil machine twice every month.

3. If machine does not run for long time, oil to machne and let axis travel on time.

4. Move axis to travel slowly for ensure oil could be on linear guide and ballscrew.

What Can We Do If CNC Wood Router Cutter Stick Material Powder?

What can we do if cnc wood router cutte stick material powder in the processing?

Usually, there are two kinds of  cutter sticking situation:

1. Material powder melted on cutter.

Material powder melted on cutter, such appearance mainly occured when process non-metal material. The main reason is the cutting head cause material powder melted. Solutions are :

1) Using more sharp cnc wood router cutter;

2) Slow down spindle rotating speed. Slowing down spindle rotating speed could slow down the cutting speed, in this way, could reduce heat created, could avoid material melting;

3) Speed up feeding speed. Feeding speed get higher, then the time that cutter staying at one position is less, then the heat receiving for unit area will get less, avoidng material melt.

2. Material powder did not melted on cutter.

This problem mainly happened when process metal material. Reason is lower processing speed, more heat released. Solutions are :

1) Improve cooling way. Change the position of cooling liquid out-way, get the cooling liquid spray out at the cuttig position.

2) Use more sharp cutter. The cutter more sharper, the head more reduced.

3) Adjust cnc wood router spindle speed, speed up it.

4) Slow down feeding speed.

Then he glued several pieces of MDF material together, then put the material on cnc wood router. Using rough passes to clear the excess material. When th rough sample is ready, then use a smaller cutter to make the surface of beer bottle more smooth. Then two halves will be glued together to make a whole positive.

This is really an interesting creative job. You may use solid wood to make the same beer bottle by cnc wood router, looks very classic.

How To Handle Solid Wood Smoking While CNC Wood Router Processing

When cnc wood router process the solid wood, there is smoking from solid wood, what can we do?

Some times, may has such smoking issue happened on cnc wood router when it process wood, such as MDF, solid wood etc. How to solve this problem? What cutters are suitable for cuttting such wood? What spindle speed we should set?

1. firstly what you should consider is to remove the wood powder in time while processing; And when you set the tool path, should make the tool path for several layers according to cnc wood router cutter size and cutting depth.

2. Suggest multi-blade circular milling cutter to cut solid wood. Size could be 6mm, cuttig at 3-4 times for powder removing quickly. Material of cutter can be tungsten steel material.

3. In the process of cutting wood, suggest to use comparessing air for cooling down cutters and removing powder.

4. If cutting depth is deep, suggest slower rotating speed and feeding speed, orelse will wear cutters easily.

Use CNC Wood Router For Mold Production

Dianel Dean and Ryan use cnc wood router to produce a mold for their project " Underground Sound".  Their project is with some giant flowers, which allow people to hear the sound from earth via megaphones.

The mold for the megaphone was designed in Rhino and imported into Enroute software as an .STL. They created all the toolpathing in EnRoute. The form was cut in pieces on the CNC router mold using a 1/2" wide by 3.5" tall ball nose bit.  Daniel glued together panel board to be 3.5" deep and divided the megaphone up into various sections. Once cut, the sections were glued together to create the final form, which was then used as a mold for the fiberglass.
