Hand Carving VS CNC Wood Router Carving

Hand Carving VS CNC Wood Router Carving

wood carving

Now, people all believe that the superior products are made by hand, these stuff also be given high value. Such as Rolls-Royce car, famous painting etc. They are showing products unique and scarcity. And these are the stuff pursued by the first class.

This indicates that hand carving products are un-replacable. Products produced by machine are the same, while hand carving stuff is with its own features, and this is the the value for hand carving. Till now, there are still some work that machine can not do, only can make by hand.

But not all people can afford everything in life made manually, neither patient to wait for rather long time to get it if made manually.
Well, cnc wood router changes the traditional engraving way, saving processing time, suitable for mass production. Comparing with hand carving, it is with less cost and high efficiency.

It is the trend that combining hand carving and machine carving.
Current technology bring us almost everything, this more indicates that hand carving is valuable. This features decides that it will be replaced at anytime. Well, with the machine carving technology developing, it shows its advantage on the production. Such as it is with higher accuracy, and rather fast working speed.

It can save the cost for one manufacturer. If combined these two working way, then product value is also increasing, and at the mean time, also could saving managing cost. So cnc wood router is popular.

What is G Code of CNC Wood Router

About CNC Wood Router G Code

CNC Router can read G code.

Well, what is G code? General code is the programming language that CNC wood router read to cut a digitally created design into wood or another material.

A basic code created by most computer-aided design and manufacturing software, G-code typically is written as a "g" followed by a two-digit code that indicates different aspects of the cutting job, such as cutting axis, motor speed or type of drilling. Similarly, M-codes are included in the programming language to operate external devices such as spindles or coolant systems, and to end the program.

What software can creat such G code? Many CAM software can do it. Such as type3, Artcam, Ucancam, UG, AlphaCAM etc.

What should I do after I get G code file? Please input it to cnc wood router machine control system, then the system could read it.

How To Use CNC Wood Router To Create Frame

How To Use CNC Wood Router To Create Frame

1. Create frame program in CAD software. Then output it to program edit software, in this software, you set toolpath, choose cutters for different job, such as engraving, drilling or cutting etc. Then output the program with the format CNC Wood router could read.

2.  Put wood workpiece to cnc wood router working table. To make sure that wood work piece be clamped or absorbed tightly to working table.
3. Now turn on cnc wood router, move spindle to the position you want starting. And set home point.

4. Use dust collecting system for operator health, environment proteciton, machine protection.

5. When the cnc wood router complete its work, the spindle will move back to the homepoint. You can go on another work or turn off cnc wood router.

How To Make Program on CNC Wood Router

How To Make Program on CNC Wood Router

cnc wood router

CNC Wood Router is rather popular in the morden instrument industry.
CNC wood router could allow woodworker to make out precise carving pieces quickly.  Such as violin makers, photo frame etc who need to produce a number of similar products.

There are several steps you need to do:
1. Input the dimension of work piece into the command console. X axis represents the length of the work-piece, Y is the width, and Z is the height.

2. Create the milling program. Enter the depth and direction of each cut as well as the number of passes required to reach the finished cut depth. Repeated shallow cuts reduce the risk of tear-out.

3.Select the router path and speed. The path and direction of each pass is best determined by the piece's final shape. Adjust the cutter speed on CNC wood router for the properties of the wood. Fine-grained hardwoods like maple burn quickly. Fast, light passes work well with this type of material. Open-grain hardwoods like oak dissipate heat rapidly. Slower, slightly heavier cuts can be made safely with these woods.

4.Save the program and test it with scrap wood on cnc wood router. Testing the initial program on a scrap piece allows you to correct mistakes in programming before you ruin an expensive piece of material.
